International Education Week
I attended the International Education Performance on Thursday, November 17 in the evening. It was held at the PAC building which is a theatre. The event had three dances, flamenco, Capoerira and Belly dance. Each is unique dances that come from different countries around the world. In Flamenco the woman wore a striking red and blue long dress that twirled with each step and the male wore an elegant suit with a red shirt to match her. The dance is singing, clapping (Palmas) and guitar. The movements are strong and forced but look very beautiful. Capoerira is an African-Brazilian martial arts dance. I had never heard or seen anything like it. The people perform martial art movements with dance and move all around the stage. The belly dancer was beautiful and wore a genie like outfit. It flowed with every step and it was amazing to watch how she shook her stomach. She used a knife to balance and stood on four glasses. This was my favorite she was so talented and the music was great.
